
Shrievalty Awards
Each year the awards, funded and supported by the Sir James Knott Trust, High Sherriff, DAAC and Durham University are given to young people nominated by family members, youth workers, police and other organisations to officially recognise those who have demonstrated bravery, determination and positive work in the community.

Eddy People
Welcome to the 'nationally recognised' EDDY People project. We are a unique and innovative scheme that Engages, Diverts and Develops Young People across our county.
The EDDY People project has been running successfully since its launch in 2006, having taken over from its highly praised predecessor, Durham Youth Enterprise Scheme.
The EDDY People project is a well structured and dynamic educational and activity based programme serving County Durham (D.A.A.C.) and Durham Constabulary and supported by a variety of both public and private sector partners.
At the heart of the project is our EDDY Students programme that is designed to engage with and develop a group of young people aged 11-16
Haggrid Project
The HAGGRID projects mission is to ensure that young people in County Durham and Darlington are seen as assets to their communities by raising their aspirations and developing them to ensure they achieve positive outcomes and improved community perceptions.
Its initial launch was 2012 with a pilot programme in Ushaw Moor teaming up with Ushaw Moor Action Group and the local secondary school, with fanatastic results. It is now being delivered in 6 areas of the county, engaging with over 100 young people, for more information please email haggrid@daac.org.uk
Insight
Insight is a substance and alcohol missuse programme aimed at educating parents and carers understand current issues within their neighbourhood. DAAC and relevant partners deliver carosell workshops covering the law, paraphernalia, support services and local issues.
Jet and Ben

Wise Drive
The national award winning project Wise Drive 'Drive for Life' is an initiative for young people in County Durham and Darlington, developed with the support of Pass and Go, Durham County Council, DVLA and others.
DAAC leads the partnership of this multi agency initiative aimed at preparing young people to become safer drivers. It's an action packed education workshop programme targeting young people within reach of their first driving licence.
Over the last 12 years we have engaged with over 1300 young people and helped reduce road traffic accidents in County Durham and Darlington.
